Richard Ma

Richard Ma is known as Richard Yunchen Ma.  He is currently studying in Digital Animation of BCIT and Fine Art of Langara College.  He started having great passion in art since around three years old, and got into an art institute in Taipei when he was sixteen years old.  There he learned traditional, academic drawing and painting skills for three years.  Here in BCIT he is applying his traditional art skills  to a CG world.  Over the past five months, He is learning Maya 2008, Combustion 4 and Photoshop CS 3.  He found his best interest in Maya and Photoshop, and decides to be a matte painter.  One reason is that he finds these areas require strong sense of traditional art theory which he used to be familiar with.  He will work harder and finish the rest of the program and make an awesome demo reel to apply for jobs.
